Princeton researchers will gather with Brazilian scientists, policymakers, environmental leaders, business innovators and social entrepreneurs for the international conference “Amazonian Leapfrogging: Long-term Vision for Safeguarding the Amazon for Brazil and the Planet” starting at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, in the Julis Romo Rabinowitz Building, Room 399. The symposium is organized by Princeton’s Brazil LAB with the Princeton Institute of International and Regional Studies (PIIRS) and the Princeton Environmental Institute (PEI).
The conference represents the start of a long-term collaboration between Princeton experts and Brazilian stakeholders who have been working closely together to identify lessons from Brazil’s recent large-scale innovations in energy, economics, health policy, indigenous rights and conservation that can become the basis for safeguarding the Amazon for Brazil and the world.
